Hi, I’m Fiona Yang, a high school senior who loves music—especially opera. I’m building Opera on the Street to make vocal storytelling accessible to everyone, so we can find connection, love, and confidence through song.
My Story
Opera is often seen as an art form that requires immense commitment (rigorous training, stagecraft and acoustics. Yet I believe that vocal storytelling that brings it to life should be shared, and be experienced more widely. I want to blend live performance with storytelling; I want to tell the stories behind those lyrics; I want to invite everyone to have a taste of the pure magic of opera.
Opera on the Street makes opera accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all. It offers opera 101, book readings, singing tutorials, community sing-alongs, mini opera-making, and many more programs to experience opera in a fun way.
